Privacy Policy

Ss. George & Alexandra Orthodox Christian Church (the “parish,” “we,” or “us”) respects the privacy of parishioners, donors, visitors, and volunteers. This policy explains how information is handled through fortsmithorthodox.org and Parish Books, our internal bookkeeping and financial-reporting tools.

Information we handle

Depending on how you interact with the parish, we may handle:

• contact information that you provide directly to the parish;
• donor names, donation amounts, dates, funds, and related records received from our online-giving provider or entered on authorized Sunday count sheets;
• posted transactions from parish-owned bank accounts, including dates, descriptions, amounts, currencies, and account identifiers supplied through Stripe Financial Connections;
• count-sheet drafts and access information stored locally in an authorized user’s browser; and
• basic technical information processed by our website host when serving the site.

Parish Books does not receive or store online-banking usernames or passwords. Bank authentication and consent are handled by Stripe and the financial institution. We request transaction data only; Parish Books does not use Financial Connections to obtain balances, account-ownership details, account or routing numbers, or to move money.

How we use information

We use information for legitimate parish administration, including to record and reconcile contributions and deposits, categorize income and expenses, maintain accounting records, prepare donor statements and internal or monthly financial reports, investigate discrepancies, respond to inquiries, and meet legal, tax, and audit obligations. We do not use bank-transaction data for advertising or credit decisions.

How information is received

Authorized parish personnel may enter count-sheet information directly. Donation records may be received from MyEOffering (MEO), including through messages delivered to the parish’s Google Workspace email account. Posted bank transactions may be received through Stripe Financial Connections after an authorized church representative connects a parish-owned account.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal or financial information. We disclose it only as needed to authorized parish leaders and accounting personnel; to providers that help us operate these services, such as Stripe, Google, MyEOffering, and Cloudflare; when you ask us to do so; or when required by law. Monthly reports shared for parish communications use summarized financial figures and are not intended to include raw bank credentials or complete transaction feeds.

Storage, security, and retention

Access to Parish Books is limited to authorized parish personnel. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no system can be guaranteed completely secure. We retain financial and contribution records for as long as reasonably necessary for parish accounting, reporting, tax, audit, dispute-resolution, and legal purposes, then delete or anonymize them when appropriate.

Website features and third parties

Our site does not currently use a general visitor analytics tracker. Some pages embed services such as Google Maps, Facebook, or YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player. Those providers may receive technical information when their content loads, subject to their own privacy policies. The private count-sheet page uses browser local storage to preserve an authorized user’s access token and unfinished draft on that device.

Your choices

You may contact us to ask about, correct, or request deletion of information associated with you, subject to accounting, tax, legal, and recordkeeping requirements. An authorized church representative may disconnect a linked financial account or withdraw Financial Connections consent through the available Stripe or financial-institution process.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or services change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
