A Day of Hospitality & History

Each year our parish opens its doors to the Fort Smith community for a day of fellowship, homemade food, and introduction to the historic Christian faith. This year, all proceeds go toward two new icons for our church.

What to Expect

  • Guided tours of the church and its iconography
  • A brief history of Orthodox Christianity in America
  • Hand-carved wooden crosses, icons, books & gifts for sale
  • International foods prepared by our parishioners
Where Your Festival Dollars Go Two new icons for our church.

This year, every dollar from the festival goes toward two new icons for our church.

Christ Pantokrator

“Ruler of All,” in the dome, watching over everyone who comes to pray.

The Platytera

The Mother of God, “More Spacious than the Heavens,” in the apse above the altar.

In an Orthodox church, icons aren’t decoration. They teach the Gospel and draw our hearts toward heaven, for us, our children and the generations after us.

Master iconographer John Lickwar will paint and install them once the funds are raised. Our goal is $43,000.
